Spring and Gold Fever in February

 The Roads
We came down this road!
The road into the canyon
With the unusual warm and lack of snow for this time of year, Spring fever has hit!  The best way to cure that is a road trip into the boonies.

Why not combine it with a hunt for some gold?

We found a great place (totally isolated)!

It required going through a few gates and using 4WD.

My son, my grandson, one of his friend, my husband and I enjoyed a great outing of exploration and gold panning east of Lovelock, NV.

Some of the roads had some snow and were muddy, we did a little slip sliding, but that is always part of the adventure!

The views were amazing.  The pictures just don't give it justice.

It was one of those days that when the sun was shining, it was warm (My face is sunburned).  But when the sun went behind the clouds or a breeze came through, the chill went through to your bones.

We lit a campfire to keep warm.

We did not find gold, but we had a fun day.  Even the kids commented that it didn't matter that we didn't find gold, it was just a fun day!
